Here’s my story...
I created in response to the glaring need for quality, affordable and convenient means of learning Swahili. In the recent years due to the rapidly changing geo-political conditions, there has been an influx of Swahili speaking refugees, among others, to the Western World.
As a result, thousands of volunteers have signed up to work among the refugees. My husband, Scott and I have been working within the refugee communities in their home city of St. Louis, for about a decade now.
As a volunteer, we noticed that most English-speaking volunteers were struggling to find resources to help them learn Swahili. Using my experience as a native Swahili speaker, a college professor and an avid language learner, I set out to create a platform that would combine both quality and affordability into a convenient course that could be taken at one's own pace.
This platform would become LSN. I truly hope that you find this space a place where you can continue to grow your love for Swahili speaking people and language. I look forward to helping you on your journey.

Here's what to expect during the 30- day program.
The 30-day Swahili immersion program is an intensive system designed to get both beginners and seasoned learners unstuck and on their way to achieving fluency. It consists of systematically organized activities designed to build on each other to accelerate the learning process. Students are able to select their levels so that they are appropriately challenged.
Here's what the challenge consists of:
Daily Swahili Lessons:
Each day there are assigned video lessons, focusing on either : foundational swahili concepts (such as sentence formation, tenses, noun classes etc), language learning strategies and listening practice. New lessons are only assigned Monday to Friday with the weekend being a time to review or catch up.
Quick Assignments:
Each day, there are assignments and gradable homework based on the lesson of the day. Spend just 30 minutes a day on assignments.
Personalized Support:
You will receive feedback on your assignments and have your questions answered by me in our LSN: APP community board.
Student Community:
Connect with fellow students on the same journey, share experiences, and stay motivated.
